The BDA Boutique Denim Factory Company is a maquiladora that manufactures jeans and gabardine garments for export to different markets. On December 5, 2016, it has obtained the highest award at the level of Sustainability, the LEED Certification granted by the United States Green Building Council, creator of this scheme recognized worldwide and with more than 60,000 Certified projects and many others in the process of Certification in all the continents of the world.

The BDA Industrial Plant is the first Paraguayan Industry to obtain this Certification, and is the first Textile Industry in America to obtain it.

The LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) stands for “Leader in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design”. The one obtained is the LEED Silver Certification, under the New Construction v3 version.

BDA Boutique Denim Factory, following its values ​​and with the responsibility placed on its people and the environment, obtained in 2016 the LEED certification, which means Leader in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design, in English Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. It is awarded by the United States Green Building Council, USGBC, a non-governmental organization.


LEED Certification is a way of defining “green” through a measurement standard. It distinguishes buildings that have demonstrated a commitment to Sustainability by meeting the highest efficiency standards.


The Certification is voluntary and requires the commitment of all the parties that make up the Project team: owners, investors, financial representatives, architects, engineers, construction personnel, product manufacturers, material suppliers, sustainability consultants, external consultants, contractors. and subcontractors.


LEED is the future of Construction. It seeks that the Entrepreneurship provides the best possible conditions to those who occupy it, to not impact the environment, to be as efficient as possible in costs and to ultimately provide well-being to all those around it.

It is in an area already developed and with access to public transport, which reduces the impacts associated with the transport of officials and users of the Project.

The use of alternative transport such as bicycles and low-emission vehicles, efficient fuel and vehicles shared by several occupants is favored and encouraged.

Local requirements are exceeded in terms of green areas and open spaces for pedestrian use by the users of the Development.

Rainwater runoff is managed through a system that limits the speed of the water, favors infiltration, captures, and reuses 100% of the surplus rainwater that does not infiltrate.

The Project uses reflective materials on roof and non-roof surfaces, to minimize the heat island effect, in which conventional constructions absorb heat and at night they become sources of heat, thereby increasing the city ​​temperatures.

The night lighting is programmed to turn off during non-working hours. Only the security and emergency lighting remain on. For night shifts, the light output from the interior to the exterior is blocked.




The irrigation system of the green areas optimizes water consumption, in addition the species are native or adapted to minimize water consumption. The water used for irrigation comes from the rainwater storage tank.

The Project uses an innovative wastewater system, treating them through a Treatment Plant by type of effluent. 50% of industrial liquid effluents return to the manufacturing process after treatment. 100% of the treated greywater is used for flushing toilets and urinals.

Low-flush sanitary fixtures are used, with automatic cut-off, to achieve savings in sanitary water consumption of approximately 40%.




The Project uses the US ASHRAE energy saving standard as a basis, and with respect to it, improves its efficiency by 14% by reducing glass surfaces, and in existing windows through a double hermetic glass with camera of air. In addition, double insulation is used in the sheet metal ceilings, to minimize the heat input to the Production and Administration Block.
